About us
Dick Johnson is a financial communicator with 35 years of experience. He is president of Johnson Strategic Communications Inc., an investor relations and corporate communications firm, sponsor of this blog.
Dick’s first love, professionally, is writing – and the financial markets are a second passion. He was a writer and editor at The Kansas City Star for 17 years, so he has a sense of how the media work.
On the corporate side, Dick did investor and media relations for several years for a US-based global pharmaceutical company and then an EU-based pharma company. Since 1997, Dick’s firm has helped companies in diverse industries tell their stories to financial and other audiences.
A longtime member of the National Investor Relations Institute, Dick was president of the Kansas City NIRI chapter from 2003-06 and remains a chapter officer. He also participates in the Association for Corporate Growth, Public Relations Society of America, NIRI’s BioPharma Roundtable and KansasBIO.
In everyday work, we help clients by consulting on corporate messages and investor relations, marketing to specialized audiences through media releases like this or this, and writing in-depth articles, white papers or presentations for financial and/or pharmaceutical audiences.
Dick graduated from Princeton as an Economics major and earned an MBA from Rockhurst with a double focus in Finance and Management. In 2008, he completed the University of Michigan’s advanced seminar in investor relations.
